I made this site because I finally got sick of the sad, bland, monochromatic hellscape that most social media sites consist of. Like many people I love the customisability of Tumblr, but I have my own personal gripes with the site, and I felt like I was finally ready to take the plunge into making my own personal website fully dedicated to myself and the things that I love.
I truly miss the "Old Web", also known as Web 1, where everyone had their own site that was perfectly catered to them as an individual, and you could be whoever you wanted to be. Professionalism, cohesiveness, trends and aesthetic standards were ignored or flat-out despised, in favour of doing whatever you wanted to do as an individual.
My site (and Neocities as a whole) is a place where you are free to be who you want to be, and you don't have to be confined to the soulless and endless white scrolling of modern websites. This is a place where I want to be able to share all of my interests, projects, artwork, and thoughts! This website is a personalised replacement for most social media I have used in the past, and now that I've had a taste of delicious, delicious HTML (which tastes like cream soda and poprocks btw) I will never go back to many of the sites and apps I used to frequent. Welcome back to Web 1!
22/04/2022 added a blog page. Wrote one entry. Haven't changed much about the page yet. Changed the div box colours and the page background.
21/04/2022 added an about page. Added an in-depth div box with information about my hobbies and interests. Added a lot of blinkies and graphics, including a custom-made glittery Shadow graphic. Also added links to different pages on the site, although some are not yet functional. Moved blinkies to the bottom of the page and moved page links to the top.
20/04/2022 added links to the blinkies, as well as an updates section. Also added some graphics from sonic heroes. Added a scrollbar to the updates section.
19/04/2022 added a header, a background, many blinkies, and a simple section with info about the site. Also added a favicon, custom cursor and a glitter trail for the mouse.
